Sure, you have access to a data stream about kilowatts consumed per hour, temperature and humidity fluctuations, HD surveillance video and maybe even the status of elevators, doors, and emergency systems. But what actions can you take with all that data to make a truly smart building — what we call buildingALIVE — that serves the evolving needs and schedules of the people who use it? Tom has built a deep level of expertise in the smart building space. Most recently, he was a system design specialist at Penn State University, where he developed, managed and maintained PSU’s Building Automation Network, a sophisticated and secure system of 640 buildings in campuses across Pennsylvania. You can read the full Penn State case study here.
